SOUNDERS EYEING THIRD SUCCESSIVE LEAGUE WIN

Reigning CONCACAF Champions League winners Seattle Sounders have a third successive win in sight ahead of their home game with Los Angeles FC (LAFC) this weekend as far as MLS football is concerned. Seattle Sounders have won their last two games in MLS football and they can make it three wins in a row with victory over LAFC at Lumen Field on Saturday night.

Seattle Sounders started their current run on the back of the 1-0 defeat at Colorado Rapids. American winger Jonathan Lewis came off the bench to score the winning goal for the hosts five minutes into the second half. Matchwinner Lewis came on for Mark-Anthony Kaye five minutes before the half-time interval and he went on to score the all-important goal in the second half.

Charlotte FC were on the receiving end as Seattle Sounders bounced back from the slim defeat to Colorado Rapids. Sounders recorded a 2-1 win at home to Charlotte FC to get back to victory ways. The hosts came from behind to beat a Charlotte FC side who took a first-half lead through midfielder Ben Bender. The Charlotte FC goal arrived on 21 minutes and the advantage lasted until winger Jordan Morris scored the equaliser for Sounders on 72 minutes. It took Sounders just eight minutes to turn the game around thanks to their Peruvian star, Raul Ruidiaz. He scored the winner with ten minutes to play.

Seattle Sounders made it two wins on the bounce with an emphatic result against Vancouver Whitecaps. Sounders were able to build on the win over Charlotte FC with the 4-0 thrashing of their guests. Uruguayan midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro scored the opening goal in the fifth minute before Ruidiaz added a brace either side of the half-time break.
